Sting’s Mission Statement:
“To provide a positive atmosphere for players to develop their soccer skills both technically and tactically as well as to develop positive off-field characteristics such as sportsmanship, dedication, honesty, commitment, respect for others, a strong work ethic and sense of self-worth.”
Why Play for Sting?
The Sting Soccer Club consists of 20-25 teams per playing cycle which includes boys’ and girls’ teams from the U10-U19 age groups. The U10- U12 age groups have traditionally been ‘developmental’ age groups where the club forms multiple teams of equal ability to play in an 8v8 format. From U13 and above, all teams play 11v11 and competitive teams are formed in most age groups. Developmental teams are formed in the competitive age groups for players who are not ready for competitive soccer when numbers are sufficient. High school age teams (U15 and up) play one longer season per cycle while teams U14 and below play a fall and spring season. Most playing seasons last 10-12 weeks although some teams choose to compete in tournaments that extend the season.
Club Commitment & Responsibilities
The club organizes two fundraisers each year.
The Bill Eisenwinter Hot Shot Tournament hosts over 150 teams from the Inland Northwest, Boise, Montana and British Columbia.
Ultimate Goal Raffle
All Sting families are required to participate in both events. All proceeds are used to fund employees, coaches and field development and maintenance. In addition to assisting with club events, Sting relies on parent volunteers to fill team positions such as Team Manager and Field Representative. There is also a high demand for Sting members to work as referees.
